Miami Art Week encompasses a host of fairs in addition to Art Basel Miami Beach. This Year I was privileged enough attend VIP Days of Design Miami, Untitled Miami, NADA Miami, Art Miami, Scope and AQUA Fair. I enjoy the “hunt” for finding interesting artists and galleries exhibiting at “Satellite Fairs” and introducing fresh talents and new discoveries with my clients. In many instances, it is the artists at these alternative fairs who will be showing at Art Basel, Frieze and other global fairs in the near future. Purchasing from younger artists and fairs is not only beneficial to galleries but also to the collector’s return on investment with the right picks.

This year’s edition of Art Basel Miami Beach was much stronger than recent years. Instagram “Selfie” focused art was less prevalent and galleries across Art Basel as well as the Satellite Fairs of the week, Untitled, NADA and Art Miami, featured strong works.
